Carson Young, a Grade 11 student at Donald A Wilson High School, plays for the Oshawa Vikings, Toronto Rugby Union and Team Ontario. Young, who has been playing rugby for seven years, plays Scrum Half to take advantage of his tackling ability and speed when on the attack. He captained the Ontario Blues this summer and also serves as team captain for Toronto Rugby Union U18 team, which recently travelled to New York for the prestigious New York 7s tournament in Randal Island, N.Y. Young was scheduled to make his Rugby Canada debut in a tournament in Arizona in December.
KINGSVILLE — The Brooklin High School golf team won gold at the 2017 Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association championships. The winning Brooklin team was led by Tyler McDowell, who finished tied for fifth individually after rounds of 75 and 71.Pictured from left are Jordan Breen, Nate Butler, Tyler McDowell, Keegan Mongru and coach Jason Taylor.
Volleyball, Javelin, Tennis
Alyssa was captain of the senior girls volleyball team, she will be playing in OFSSA next week for mixed doubles tennis(they came in 2nd at LOSSA), she made it to LOSSA for mixed doubles for badminton, she won LOSSA senior girls javelin and is competing in central OFSSA today for senior girls javelin. Alyssa also played volleyball for Durham Attack. She will be attending the University of Ottawa in the fall.
Kyle finished his high school sports career in style by winning the Senior Male Athlete of the Year. Kyle participated in all six sports seasons during his grade 11 and 12 years at Brooklin High School playing both Rugby (7's and 15's) and hockey. During the past two years Kyle has earned four LOSSA team medals (3 silver, 1 gold) and has represented BHS at two OFSAA events and two Ontario Rugby 7's Championships. He also acted as the co-captain on the Senior Boy's rugby team and was a huge part of the Bears success over the past two years. Kyle will studying Sports Management at Brock University in the Fall.
